Update 5 AM Dec 30th 2015 21Fย  – I pray for the loved ones of those killed in the Southeast United States. It is a tragic loss with so much devastation. In Roswell two have died so far with hundreds still stranded and hundreds of traffic accidents. One lady I know of is 8 months pregnant, hasn’t been able to get to work for five days, her car is snowed in, and the streetsย  still have 20 inches of snow on them in places. Snow drifts are over 10 feet tall in other areas of the city. My caregiver has not been here since December 24th because she too is locked in.

I am one of the lucky ones. While preparing for something else, I prepared food and water for a month. Little did I realize something like this would happen. There are 60 residents in this handicapped and elderly complex. at least 25% are handicapped like myself, they cannot walk or worse. The rest are all over 65 mostly in their 70’s and 80’s. Even if they could drive, they could not go to the store.

Management has cleared the doorways, but not much else can be done. Rental equipment for snow removal is booked for the next week. The manager and one worker cannot, could not possibly remove the snow from the walks and the drives/parking areas by hand. I am praying for those in the complex that cannot get help, they must be close to running out of food. this is one complex, imagine the hundreds of complexes like this in New Mexico. I expect many more deaths, some, will take days or even weeks to find.

Update 10:30 AM Dec 27 2015 – All roads in and out of Roswell New Mexico are closed until further notice. Traffic has stopped. The city is basically shut down.

The Southern and Eastern United States get most of the national drastic weather news. I suppose because of their population density. However here on the desert lands of New Mexico, Western Texas and Arizona we hardly ever make the news, even when we have 80 mile an hour winds that rip houses off their lots, hail storms that last for hours sometimes, and blizzards.

Yesterday and through the week we will probably have more deaths reported because of the weather, even though the police murdering people, should be at the forefront of the news. I guess what bugs me most is that right now we are having a blizzard in central to Northern New Mexico, people are dying, traffic accidents will cost billions, and we do not make the news. Maybe our newspapers and TV reporters are lame.

I only go outside if the temp is 75 degrees F or more, but here is a photo what what is happening right this moment outside my door. 4 AM Dec 27 2015

Wow, snow in the desert! And all we get is rain, so unfair ๐Ÿ™
Seriously though that does not look good I hope you don’t get snowed in.

If it is less than 75F I am snowed in. I hope Alice and UPS are not snowed in however! You get your little brother and the two of you come over and make a bunch of snow sculptures cause I can’t take this! I will serve hot cocoa!

I did see a report about snow in El Paso, but you are right about Arizona and New Mexico. Arizona only gets news stories when Sheriff Arapaio does something stupid. Maybe if another spaceship crashes in Roswell, it will be picked up. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Los Angeles is clear, but a bit nippy (for here) at 60 degrees. If Pauly and his brother tried to fly in, I doubt that they could make it to your place since you said that Roswell is snowed in. Try not to get “cabin fever”; I’m sure that you can find something to keep yourself amused. Hugs.

I wish that there was something that I could do for you. If its any consolation, I actually do pray for you every night. I also check the weather reports for Albuquerque every day and see that it is clear today. It is a good thing that you stocked up. The only thing that I can think to do is to put your link up on Facebook. I’m waiting to hear from Wayne to see about getting together & getting TeamSpeak set up (he wrote yesterday). Take care and I hope that everything works out soon. Hugs.

Wow, you guys are really getting it. Please be safe and take care. Also, I made a comment on Facebook about Donald Trump, and some old b***h said she was going to report me. So far, I haven’t heard anything. Hang in there!

  5. That is a lot of snow. Hope you are staying safe and warm.

I’m glad you were prepared and you’re safe. I hope no more snow falls and that no one else gets hurt or worse ๐Ÿ™

  7. I just moved from Pittsburgh to Alabama. One of the big reasons for moving is the amount of snow that Pittsburgh receives. You are lucky that you had a food reserve. That is one thing that we do is keep enough food to last about a month. It might not be what we want to eat at the time but definitely suitable for survival.

I have a really nice almost new snow blower. My move was so sudden that I didn’t have time to try to sell it before moving. That means that I probably have the only snow blower in the entire county. If we get 20 inches of snow here then I am prepared. The difference between Alabama and Pittsburgh is if you get 20 inches of snow it might last a week in Alabama but will be on the ground in Pittsburgh for over a month.

I can’t say I think Pennsylvania is a great place, been there a couple of times during the summers. Alabama?? I feel so sorry for you James! I hope everything works out how you want it. Now you make me feel how lucky I am to be where I am at. We only have Aliens here. You have the trash of the Universe there!
