The move to my new efficiency apartment went well, but I still have to buy drapes and rods, and I am waiting for the bookcase that goes on top of my desk (it is 80 miles away right now). Other than those things the move is complete. I want to thank Cable One for putting my computer, phone, fax machine, and modem together (not their job) and making sure everything worked, the staff here at the complex for moving the heavy things and putting up my 55 inch television and making sure it worked (not their job), and of course my caregiver for the tireless effort packing and unpacking – as well as putting away my possessions.

Any move, by anyone is stressful, but in a wheelchair you compound that by a few hundred times. The two weeks before the move I barely slept at all, and after the move… well lets say I am still settling down. For two years I lived in a rat hole, and now I have a beautiful apartment. I will put up a video on Youtube in a few days, show the old and the new.

I now have a cement wheelchair ramp, an ADA bathroom a new refrigerator and a new Stove and oven. All of them small because after all this is an efficiency, but it is all I need. Now the stool and sink in the bathroom are kid sized because I am small, that means I won’t fall in anymore YAY ME! Β At least it is not that dreadful, depressing place I used to live.

I am also a paraplegic however I became a paraplegic when I was 71 and now at 79 I am more dependent on an aid which is something new for me. I’m thankful for their assistance and I am very glad the you now have a place that is tuned to your needs. Good luck, or though I have learned luck isn’t what makes it work, but determination and the help of good people. Enjoy

An ADA bathroom is a wonderful thing. I had my bathroom completely redone several months back to make it ADA compliant. My shower is about 5 by 5 with hand rails on three of the walls, multiple shower heads and a shower chair. It is completely wheelchair accessible should I reach the point that it is required. It is so nice to be able to take a shower without having to worry about falling in the tub or while getting in or out.

I am really glad that you have a nice place than you can enjoy. I will be looking forward to seeing the video tour.
