Remmy’s Review of The Departed

The Departed 6 October 2006, This is an Irish mob movie that caught my attention. Mafia Movies I love, but Irish mob movies, which are not the same at all, barely peak a snore. This one, however, had so many big names in it I had to watch it.

In no apparent order, Matt Damon plays a State Cop along with Leo DiCaprio, Mark Walberg as Digman, Martin Sheen as high up Queenan, Alec Baldwin as Ellerby, Jack Nickolson as Frank Costello… odd name for an Irish mob leader.

Or maybe he is an Italian leading an Irish mob. Who knows? This is a cat and mouse movie that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering who is what and where… as well as who will die. Directed by Martin Scorsase.

I rate this 4 out of 5 stars and it is worth watching.

This had plenty plot twists which made it an intriguing movie. The acting was excellent and the director was great, but who can say anything really bad about Martin Scorcese? If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
