goosebumpsWriting A Review of an R.L. Stine book is hard enough, something I cannot do in my present mindset. What do you say about an author that outsells Stephen King? Doing a review of a movie made from one of his many books is more plausible. Actually the Goosebumps books were adapted by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski and turned into a screenplay by Darren Lemke. The film was directed by Rob Letterman.

I have no idea who those people are. Nor do I have any idea who the overage actors were in the film, except for two. Jack Black plays R.L. Stein in the movie. R.L. Stein plays Mr. Black in the movie. That is enough comedy right there to get the ball rolling.

I could say that this movie is geared for 8-14 year old, but no, it is for all ages. Rated PG, and horror / comedy. Some of you may say I will pass on this movie because Jack Black is in it. How odd, I like some of his movies but this one is great. He plays a father with an only daughter and a keeper of a horrible secret. His acting is way above par.

Is the movie plausible? Only in the world of R.L. Stein, and your nightmares. For those that have trouble with nightmares, you may want to pass on this one. For those of us that have real nightmares, this will not affect your sleep pattern. I rate the movie 4 out of 5 stars. Oct 16, 2015

Although I have never read any of RL Stine’s books, I really liked the preview of this film. I was almost tempted to go see it even though its been a few years since I’ve gone to a theater. I definitely will put this on my “must see” list.

That trailer looks like the movie could be really good. And just so you know, the boy who screams in the trailer is Ryan Lee who played Cary in Super 8. He was the blonde haired boy who liked to blow things up!

Well, I finally saw this and, for the most part, I liked it. It seemed to take them a while to get to the monsters, but once they did, the movie became more interesting. Jack Black was actually acting in this so I have to say that he did a good job. I don’t know the actor’s name who played the goofy sidekick Champ, but he was totally annoying.

I agree with Remmy in his giving this film 4 out of 5 stars.
