fundamentals-of-caringI have mixed emotions about this movie, as any good book or movie should do. However this one hits really hard at my personal life. I wonder if I should share it at all. Unless you have been there you will never know I guess, so I have to tell you about it.

I have tried to tell people what it is like, I have tried to tell people not to waste their lives, stop procrastinating and get busy, all to no avail. They ask me what it is like, they ask me about my caregiver, they want to know what is wrong. I tried to tell them and in every instance they have blown it off.

Now you can’t. This is a movie about an English boy (Go figure that one out, talk about role reversal) that spends most of his life in a wheelchair. What he has affects children in different ways, for instance, my hands work almost perfect, although the rest of me doesn’t. Does not… so much so that my closest friends have made me cry.

I thought this movie was great. It shows the difficulties of being in a wheelchair, the lack of life outside a room or apartment. This movie shows the bond between a good caregiver and a crap one… believe me I have had over twenty-seven crap ones in nine years, and right now I have a great one.

Most of all it shows some of the attitudes and mind games someone in a wheelchair goes through, they have to to survive. On top of that, you will find they want the same things as everyone else, friends, family, parents that care… not to be written off by some government agency.

I think you will learn a lot from this movie.  think it will make you think, and it should make you laugh and cry. Most of all I hope it the difference between someone living day to day, and someone that wants to accomplish things. So that someday YOU may be successful. Starring Craig Roberts, Paul Rudd, Selena Gomez, and they are all excellent. Photography, directing and editing are great. And the story line got nominated at the Sundance Film Festival As always I take one star off for foul language and this had a lot in it, that was not necessary at all. I give the movie 4 out of 5 stars! I will add it to my collection! June 16 2016

I like the “feel” of this movie. It takes a serious subject and makes it into a fun-filled adventure which some handicapped people may never experience. The humor is subtle without being silly.

I have now just finished watching this movie. I definitely can not say anything bad about it, even the foul language is understandable. Remmy took a star off for that, but I would go ahead and give it 5 stars. Everyone should see this movie; it is well worth your time.

I really didn’t know what to expect when I started watching this movie but it was probably one of the funniest/sad/thought provoking films I have watched in a long time.
The story has already been explained but you need to watch it to realise how someone in a wheelchair copes with day to day things. The language used is not overly bad and sometimes (unlike Remmy) I thought it was appropriate.
You need to watch this movie!

I watched this movie over the weekend and LOVED IT!!

I know the language probably made Remmy cringe, but it was an awesome movie in spite of that. I loved Trevor and all of his pranks. Funny guy…. also cool… and handsome. 🙂
