Netflix in the UK has a very limited range of movies compared to the US site, and some of the choices are B-movies that no one has ever heard of or are years old. But they also show recent movies that are very good that I have also never heard of. Survivor, starring Pierce Brosnan, is one such movie.

Survivivor Teaser PosterThe description simply says that a US Embassy employee is on the run in London after being framed for a terrorist attack whilst trying to stop another pending attack. Not the best intro to a movie ever but as I like Pierce Brosnan movies I thought it was worth a watch. Wow, I was not disappointed.

The movie had me interested pretty much from the start and I can honestly say that I did not know what was coming next. Not bad considering this type of movie has been done many times before. The action was intense all the way through and you really felt concerned that the terrorists were going to win.

Downsides – I couldn’t really work out why the headmistress* from Greybridge School (Big School TV show from the UK 🙂 ) was working as an operative at the US Embassy and how security systems were compromised so easily/quickly.

I gave the movie 5/5 after I watched it but after some thought I lowered it to a very good 4/5.

* Frances de la Tour has also been in Harry Potter and Hugo among other things.

3 Thoughts on “Paul’s Review of Survivor w/ Trailer

Awesome review of a good movie and I totally agree with you. It is worth watching! You guys think Paul and I should do a Siskel and Ebert type thing since we watch the movies together?

P.S. About the UK actress playing a part in a US base, she is a double agent and changed her name to get the job. That is how MI-6 knew where the girl was before their own agents did.

Nice review. I think I’ll check this one out.

  3. Pierce Brosnan threw me off a bit because it took me a while to recognize him. I’ve liked Milla Jovanovich since The Fifth Element and Dylan McDermott is also very good. I might even watch it since the trailer is decent. Good review, Paul.
