Paul’s review of Kingsman: The Golden Circle

4.5

Kingsman: The Golden Circle 22 September 2017, Rated R, is the sequel to the original 2015 Kingsman movie that I gave a very high 4/5 score when I reviewed it. Yet again we see Eggsy (Taron Egerton) take on the bad guys after becoming an official member of Kingsman. Most of the surviving members from the last movie also return for this outing as they take on a world’s largest drug cartel.

The acting once again is very good, and I particularly liked how Elton John was used throughout the movie, even though at first, I really did think it was a lookalike playing the part. The two-hour movie is also fast paced and full of action throughout. The CGI is, in the most part, very well done but the car chase just didn’t look believable – I’m assuming it was CGI, if not then it was good driving!

When I watched this movie, I could not help thinking that following the success of the first one, with a British storyline, this one was made more for the American market. This is not a bad thing, but I would have preferred it more like the original. I don’t want to spoil the plot by saying any more though 😊

I would rate this a very high 4/5 and it is definitely a well-written sequel.

I would like to see this one since I enjoyed the first one so much. From the review, it sounds like it could be very entertaining. Whether it is tailored for the American market or not is irrelevant as long as it entertains me.

I never liked ANY of the James Bond movies. If this would have been anything like that I would give it a zero. This is fresh, exciting action-adventure from the other side of the pond… well England at any rate. This is way beyond James Bond. I loved it. 5 out of 5 from me!
