Paul’s review of Edge of Fear

I have no idea why this movie that was released on 1st August 2018 is called Edge of Fear because there was no fear that I could see. However, this joint Chinese/American tie-up does contain plenty of action. When Mike Dwyer, a businessman, has a heart attack, he is saved by two Chinese doctors after being rushed into hospital. They develop a friendship, and he invites Patrick (Shen Lin) and Laura (Zhu Zhu) to his home for a bit of relaxation. Unfortunately for them they have a visit from Jack Pryor (Robert Patrick) and his friends after they have become ‘stranded’. Soon their relaxed break takes a rather sinister turn for the worse.

Overall, I enjoyed this movie and the lead actors played their parts well particularly Robert Patrick who was rather intimidating in his role. Shen Lin seemed a little wooden at times, but it was not distracting. I must warn you that there is a lot of blood and guts in this and it shows the killing of animal. So, if this is not your scene, you should give it a miss. Overall though, an easy 4 out of 5 from me.

Never go out in the woods. Period.

This is one of those movies where you know it is going to end badly from the very beginning. It did end badly but although not on the edge of my seat, I was hoping it would be something different.
