After the surprises that were contained in a previous parcel from Remmy, you can imagine I was very dubious when any future parcels arrived. He had already warned me that another one was on the way but he PROMISED me that this time I had nothing to worry about.
So when it arrived, you can imagine I wasn’t taking anything for granted when I slowly opened it up. Yet again he assured me that nothing was in it so I believed him and continued to open it.
True to his word there was nothing jumping out at me or looking at me ready to bite so I breathed a sigh of relief and took in what he had sent me. The package was gold, and beautiful. Contained in the parcel was five one-pound Hershey’s Dark chocolate bars which, at the time, were not available in the UK. However, when I looked close a few bars looked like they had been, should we say, messed with. I looked closer but I thought they had just been disturbed in transit so just thought my mind was playing tricks.
I opened one of the ‘dodgy’ bars and the found that inner foil was still intact so peeled it away. There inside were bugs, all squished on the chocolate. As you can imagine I freaked and probably swore a few times as I couldn’t believe he had pranked me again. I challenged him and he still insisted that he hadn’t done anything. However, his mum was giggling away in the background.
BUSTED! It was his mum who had done it and Remmy was completely innocent for once 😉
I was still freaking out as I was trying to find a way to explain to dad that the house might need fumigating as we had some weird Alien bugs running around.
His mum was still laughing but promised that they were fake bugs, Crickets in fact, and that I had nothing to worry about. Yeah right, like I was going to believe that.
After I got over the shock and came to the conclusion that they were indeed, very believable looking, fake bugs it was time to have some fun with them 🙂
The first thing that I decided to do was to see if I could prank dad. You have to know my dad is not the one to be pranked and I had to make sure that I didn’t piss him off. I was almost fourteen years of age and wasn’t sure if I would live long enough to see my birthday!
The idea came to go with a bug infestation. I put the bugs in the sugar bowl and in a kitchen cupboard knowing that he would be the first to go in there and let them do their thing 🙂
I was listening for him to come home and waited for him to go into the kitchen. I could hear him cursing in the kitchen and moving things around quite noisily. I went downstairs and he was throwing things from the cupboard onto the counter top, so I asked him what was wrong.
He said we have a ‘bleeping load of bugs in the kitchen and I don’t know where they have come from’. Looking concerned I went over to have a look and made out that I was grossed out. He was scuttering saying things like ‘I don’t understand’ and ‘it doesn’t make sense’. I tried my hardest not to laugh as he said we would probably have to ring someone to spray for bugs as they seem to be everywhere.
I left him to carry on as I went back upstairs and into my room and laughed. I went down a bit later and he was still emptying cupboards looking for bugs. I just couldn’t keep it going any longer and confessed that that the bugs were fake and he didn’t have to worry.
The look in his eyes said it all and he just said ‘you *&^(_+*(&% idiot, that was not funny I was ready to get the place fumigated as I couldn’t work out the heck they came from!’
I helped him to sort the kitchen out and I think he forgave me in the end.
As I have already mentioned, my little innocent, not hardly, twelve year old brother could be a pain and he had a habit of eating all of the breakfast cereal before I woke up. So I decided that to teach him a lesson I would put the bugs in the cereal box the night before. I made sure I was awake before him and when I heard him go downstairs I followed. I could tell that he was a little surprised that I was awake with him but he didn’t say anything as he grabbed the cereal and started to fill up his bowl. The milk followed and he started to eat.
I got a glass of juice but took my time getting anything else as he continued to eat the cereal. Next minute he gave out a yelp and the spoon flew across the kitchen. I was all serious and asked him what the heck he was doing. He just muttered something about black things in his bowl. I told him to stop being silly but he made me look at the bowl. Sure enough there were the bugs floating in the milk. I said yuck they must have made a nest in the box and been growing in there all this time. I then said I hope you never ate any as they might be poisonous. He went running upstairs shouting for my dad as I tried to keep from laughing.
When dad came down he wasn’t very happy and looked at the bugs in the bowl. He fished one out in the spoon and looked closely at it, then looked at me. He looked at my brother and said you just been set up they are plastic!
I was laughing for hours after that but enjoyed my cereal 🙂
