I went to see IT. I remember watching the original when I was a kid, 9 or 10 years old, I remember how scary it was then. I probably shouldn’t have watched it.¬† Looking back, I wouldn’t have let my kids watch it at that age. I am usually disappointed in remakes. I did enjoy this remake.

It was both comical and frightening. Pennywise was evil and ready to kill you, he could be not only frightening, but funny… but only in a couple of scenes. ‘Richie’ in the movie played by 14 year old Finn Wolfhard (born 23 Dec 2002/ Stranger Things, Mike Wheeler) was over the top in his performance. Boys are boys, and a little perverted at that age… okay a lot, but this was a movie, he made the movie over the top with his hilarity¬† He believes that all those taken before his group may have been virgins, and the fun doesn’t stop there (Remmy’s note: they took out the orgy scene that was in the book).

Don’t misunderstand, this movie will make you jump and several scenes are even more frightening.¬† Bill Skarsgard did a phenomenal job making Pennywise, different but scarier than I remember. Not to mention he was a shapeshifter and caught a bunch of kids using that trick. I rate this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars – AliceO (AKA Robot Chef Alice)

Great review. I’m not a fan of Stephen King’s books and, depending on the director, a fan of movies based on his books, but this could be worth watching.

  2. Even that bleepin’ trailer scared the poop out of me, but I so want to watch this…

I am NOT buying this movie, so if I see it, then someone else bought it. NEVER NEVER NEVER I am afraid of clowns since I was little. (including Sinter Klaus for good reason)
