Kong Skull Island 2017 featuring Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Shea Whigham, and a host of other edible and squishy notables. ย With a cast as famous as these guys you would have to expect it to be good, on the other hand there have been so many remakes of King Kong you have to wonder. So the audience was out except for reviewers that never saw the movie but reviewed it anyway.

The acting was downright over the top. The photography was over the top, the music… well I can’t say it was bad, but this movie takes place at the end of the Vietnam (Police Action) War So the music although fitting I guess, is REALLY OLD like my best friend who probably knows all those songs by heart (he blames that on his dad). The CGI was not the best, but it was good enough. There were no cavemen in the movie, but it takes place in the South Pacific so there are a LOT of people from caveman times in it, I didn’t catch their names because they were extras. Then again John Goodman was in it with a caveman beard, go figure.

The movie is rated PG-13 action/adventure/horror and most of all no kissing so it is suitable for younger audiences in my opinion. It may teach adults that there are real monsters everywhere you look, the kids seem to know this already.

I rate this movie 4.5 out of 5 I will add it to my collection. Oh yeah be sure and watch the complete credits.

That movie looks really good, I can’t wait to see it!

Some funny comments in the review too ๐Ÿ˜›

The movie was really good, much better than King Kong a few years back. The two hours flew by as there was lots of action and the story was believable. The CGI was awesome and the music was good as well. It was a very close 5/5 but 4.5 is about right. The ending was cool when the original airmen went home too.
As mentioned in the review watch the very end of the credits ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve seen two King Kong movies: the original from the 1930s and the 1980s remake. This looks more exciting than those two with a better story line. To me, John Goodman is always a must see.
I will be sure to watch this one. And yes, there are a couple funny lines in this review.
