StevenF Review of I Am Vengeance

The British film I Am Vengeance was released on February 24, 2018. When an Army buddy and his parents are killed, John Gold comes to the town of Devotion to find their killers. He discovers they were killed by a rogue Special Forces officer and his men who are taking over the local drug trade. Gold is helped by a young cafe owner, Rose, and a talkative heroin addict named Sandra.

Almost everything about the movie was good except for the film used. It seems it was the wrong type of film for the movie. Maybe it was to give the film a 1980s look because the title reminded me of those kind of movies. I didn’t know any of the actors except for the one who played Sandra. She looked and sounded familiar. It appears that she was in Harry Potter and the Hollow Lands and Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince. There were plenty of action scenes and a couple gory scenes which were done well.

All together it was a good movie if you like this genre. The story line was fairly original and logical. A couple of scenes weren’t too well edited, but this was probably to frame the film into a decent time length. Whatever the reason, they did not distract from the story. I give this 3 stars out of 5.

Remmy’s Review of: Mute

Mute (February 2018) TV-MA, Alexander Skarsgard (Leo), Paul Rudd (Cactus Bill), with a cast like this you would think this would be a stellar movie, not only because it has science fiction sections it it, however this movie falls flat on its face. A German Amish mute takes on the gangsters in Germany but during his quest to find his love, we have to deal with child molesting doctor, mild gangsters and the final ten minutes. I have to say¬† Violence, some blood, and one semi gore scene. I never experienced a two hour show where I wished I didn’t turn it on. Others have given this a good review, but sorry I cannot do that. 2 stars out of 5, and I am sure others will agree with me, this movie missed the mark.
